Top 10 Songs You Couldn't Live Without on a Desert Island
  • GovernorGovernor September 2009
A member-supported radio station out if the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia called XPN is hosting top 885 (they are 88.5 FM in philly) "desert island" songs. The premise is simple, people submit the 10 songs that they absolutely could not live without if they were stranded on a desert island for the rest of their life. The premise is a little different than your 10 current favorite songs because your favorites can change over time. This is more of a timeless scenario.

So, since I'm writing up my list for xpn at the moment, I figured I would ask the same question here. What 10 songs could you not live without? They may not be the ten songs that you think are the most artistic or worthy of being in a top 10 list; you'd be listening to them and only them for the rest of your life, so repeat playability is really important.

I'll post mine once it is done.

Why does it have to be a desert?
  • GovernorGovernor September 2009
A desert island is the same thing as a "deserted" island. It isn't an environmental description.
  • NunesNunes September 2009
I assure you that with only 10 songs, and no other form of entertainment, that I would be spending most of my time trying to get off of the island, listening to one song and one song only:

    The Great Escape Theme.

/I've never been a fan of this line of questioning, as my only real preference in life is variety.

I just skimmed over this thread again, and I counted only a small handful of emo songs/bands. What in particular caught your eye?
