    To be taken somewhat seriously, especially in something that has taken storm across technologically adept persons, you may want a more business-esque email address. Just a thought.

    Other than that, good luck with the business. I do think you missed the fad though.
  • intensiveintensive April 2009
    The e-mail address will change once I get my hosting and all set up.

    As for the fad, it's still huge around here. Games every night of the week in multiple locations.

    I've been selling only locally to supply the games here, but I'm trying to move it on to the web.

    The website is coming! image/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

    It's a general list. If there's something in particular you're looking for shoot me a PM, I'll provide you a link and all the pictures you need if I have it. Otherwise, I won't have an entire database up until I finish up my site and get the Hosting and Domain on board.

    Poker supplies should go great in an recession. People are just throwing around disposable income on supplies for a game that they can dump more disposable income on.
    /not hating, on purpose. I just think that you're way on the tail end of a fad that may be on it's way out simply due to the psychological effects of things lately.

    //slashies.

    I don't know what you guys are referring to, but poker is still a huge industry. It hasn't been just a "fad" in years.
  • intensiveintensive April 2009
    Yeah, you guys talking about the fad must be from a different location. I can name at least a dozen games around here every night of the week within a 25mi radius of each other, buy-ins varying between 1/2 to 25/50. And they've been hosting their games for years and years. I play at a lot of them. So no, I'm not on a "tail end" of a fad. Texas Hold'em is huge all over Europe and the NA. Has it slowed down because of our economy's current state? Probably. Has every other business, though? Probably so.

    You'd think, but during the great depression, people spent their money on going to clubs and dancing. It is an odd thing recessions. People are willing to spend their last dime for an hour of enjoyment. I think poker (and possibly blackjack) will be pretty big in this recession. Not only do people find it enjoyable, but it offers that get-rich-quick image. Not to mention all those people who think they are good at it.

    I just give Americans a maximum attention span of 2.5 years. It took like 5 years around these parts for the world series of poker to pick up in popularity, and the subsequent rush to play texas hold'em started a few years later. That's all I'm really basing this on. The economy being in the shitter is just a fun excuse for everything that can/will go wrong.

    /I had to move the goalposts.
    //It's because of the economy.
    ///And the swine flu?
