Wireless routers
  • coffeecoffee May 2009
So i moved into my new place last week and I'm in the process of getting internet/cable set up but I also need to get a router. I don't really know much about router brands, only general tidbits like linksys is pretty popular and stable. What i am looking for is an N-router, with backwards support for wireless G cards (i think most N-routers support this so it's moot) so i don't have to upgrade everything right away.

Does anyone have suggestions for brands?

Also i'm only signed up for high speed internet which is 7.5 mbps, so would a 54mbps router be enough, 108 mbps router be overkill?
  • Get something that supports dd-wrt

What Frat said. You can basically get Cisco-like versatility out of a Linksys and lots of other low-end routers.
  • gov, this would be perfect for your spam project
