    1) Hold down both shift keys.
    2) Type "THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG" while shifts are down.
    3) Post what keyboard you have.

If letters do not appear, or spaces, do not correct it- that's the point of the thread.

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rollover_%28key%29

Basically, it saves the company of the computer ~0.0006 cents per key if they use some cheaper setup for the keys, but then it causes other keys to jam if pressed at same time (aka, the less letters you get typed, the cheaper your keyboard manufacture is )

Please post what keyboard you use as well.

Mine (generic IBM keyboard from the 1990s):

Backspace, Enter, Tab, Print Screen, and Capslock don't work.

    Curiously NumLock and ScrollLock work.

Seems like it only matters with the shift keys...

Conrad's using MX Revolution Wireless Combo keyboard. He's missing O's and L's. Capslock works find for him. And he can't find the scroll lock or numlock keys... it seems MX decided they were useless. I'm inclined to agree.

Gateway USB keyboard attached to MacBook Pro.
  • NunesNunes June 2010
Hm. Perhaps Macs handle that problem internally? Anyone else have a Gateway USB keyboard? I find it hard to believe Gateway's making ballin' keyboards.
