    I wrote a paper on a science fiction book by Philip K. Dick and used 2 words my english teacher hasn't seen "in many years"..

    I think it goes more to say that our English studies are being neglected. Soon, like New Zealand, we will allow txt speak on standardized testing.

    My english teacher in my freshmen and senior year of high school was crazy. We would only read the first chapter of a book each week and discuss it for the whole week. We only read 2 whole books my senior year.

    Well I must admit I do not see Qualm used very often. But I do see Tome used a bit. I am a sci-fi/fantasy reader.

    that's a damn lie. i've used several words from the GRE, and I still didn't get an A.

    Yah that's it, Tome 1 of Harry Potter, Tome 2 and so it goes on to the last Tome, 7. Isn't it the word used ? Anyway when I went to "English Concentration" they did it on purpose to freaking give us the less used words for the vocabulary heh ...

    That is a good one. It was used as the basis for the movie "Blade Runner" for those of you who aren't much into books without pictures.
